about

"Birds" is song 1 of 3 from Alexandra's upcoming EP.

ABOUT:
I wrote this song what seems like ages ago in a tiny town called Pai, in Thailand. It's about embarking on a wild & mystical journey both physically and spiritually- leaving to travel around the world, and leaving a past version of self behind.

lyrics

LYRICS:
I used to sleep in a very cramped house
With two old foes of mind
But then I met a friend one night
Started getting drunk and swaying under moonlight

You could easily call me out
With talk of this and that I’ve done wrong
Makin’ threats like “where have you gone?”
But, if you don’t stop that I’m leaving

I used to think only birds were free
‘Cause they could change with the seasons
But then I learnt everybody has the right
To pick up and cry I’m leavin’

Yes, I used to think only birds were free
‘Cause they could change with the seasons
But then I learnt everybody has the right
To pick up and cry I’m leavin’

To pick up and cry I’m leavin’
